Real decides to wait until Atletico for Alonso case

Real Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso will remain in his position for now. On Wednesday, the "Whites" secured a 3–2 victory over Talavera in the Copa del Rey.

Previously, the team achieved a 2–1 win against Alaves in La Liga. According to Cadena SER, the management of the "Royal" club intends to give Alonso some additional time and will not dismiss him at least until the Spanish Super Cup semifinal against Atletico, scheduled for January 8.

The source highlighted that Alonso's future largely depends on the outcome of the Madrid derby. However, his dismissal before the match against Atletico is not ruled out if the team delivers a completely poor performance in the matches against Sevilla on December 20 or Real Betis on January 4.
