On Tuesday night, Portuguese footballer Bernardo Silva provided an assist and helped Manchester City secure a 2–0 win in the League Cup semi-final.
Guardiola highlighted Bernardo’s importance to the team, saying it is impossible to put into words how strong a player he is. “You can’t even imagine how good Bernardo is. His absence is really felt. I hope he extends his contract with the club for a century or so. This guy is a real fighter; he knows all the rules—he knows everything,” Guardiola said.
The current contract of 31-year-old Manchester City captain Bernardo expires in the summer, and the parties have not yet reached an agreement on a new deal. Still, the club hopes he will renew.
This season, Bernardo has made 29 appearances in all competitions and recorded three assists, helping guide his team to victories. His consistent performances and major contribution are highly valued by fans and coaches.
