The head coach of the Kyzylkum U-19 club was caught taking a bribe

The head coach of the U-19 club "Kyzylkum" was caught taking a bribe to guarantee the inclusion of a young teenager in the main squad. This was reported by the press service of the UFA.

"In our country, large-scale practical work is being carried out to combat corruption, which is a hindrance to development, and to rid all aspects of society of any of its manifestations. Most importantly, a sense of intolerance towards this vice has been formed among citizens. As a result, we all know that, along with many other areas, football, which is considered a game of millions, is developing rapidly.

For the first time in history, the participation of the national Olympic team of Uzbekistan in the Paris Olympics or the right of our national team to participate in the World Cup is evidence of our opinion.

However, as if the rice is not without its scythe, the unscrupulous actions of some officials can cast a shadow over the future of the system.

Although the head coach of the U-19 team of the Kyzylkum professional football club operating in the city of Navoi knew that players were selected for the team through tests and accepted based on the decision of the club commission and the relevant order of the manager, he took advantage of his official position to gain the trust of a teenager born in 2008, a resident of Nurota district. More precisely, he demanded 20 million soums in exchange for accepting him as a player in the team's main squad.

However, the head coach was detained with material evidence by officers of the State Security Service and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes while receiving the requested amount of money.

Currently, a criminal case has been initiated against him under Article 168, Part 3, Subparagraph "B" of the Criminal Code, and an investigation is underway.

It should be noted that today the Football Association of Uzbekistan has identified ensuring honesty and transparency in football as one of its top priorities.

Failure to adhere to these principles can negatively affect the trust of the younger generation in football.

It is mandatory for all participants in football to adhere to fair, transparent and high professional standards.

In this regard, the Football Association of Uzbekistan strictly warns teams, players and specialists and takes all measures to ensure that the system is free from corruption,” the UFA press service wrote.
