Doku wanted to console "City" with a cup

Jeremy Doku has urged his "Manchester City" team-mates to put their Champions League disappointment behind them by beating "Arsenal" in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley. The Belgian winger said lifting a trophy on Sunday would be the best way for Pep Guardiola’s side to recover after their heavy aggregate defeat to "Real Madrid" in Europe. Reports Goal.com.
"Manchester City" were knocked out 5-1 on aggregate in the round of 16, ending their hopes of continental success once again against the Spanish giants. Even so, Doku believes the team showed character in the second leg, where they kept competing despite going down to 10 men early in the match.
Doku said the final offers a chance to quickly change the mood around the squad. He stressed that the coming games will define the season and insisted the players must focus on recovery and take each match step by step. In his view, there is still plenty left to fight for in domestic competitions.
Despite trailing league leaders "Arsenal" by nine points, "Manchester City" still have a game in hand and remain in the FA Cup. That means a domestic treble is still possible on paper. After the Wembley clash and the international break, Guardiola’s side will face a demanding run of matches, including another major meeting with "Arsenal" in the Premier League.
