Which club would Erling Haaland prefer to join after City?

Erling Haaland would consider a move to "Real Madrid" if he ever leaves "Manchester City", according to former football executive Keith Wyness. Speaking to Football Insider, the ex-chief executive of "Everton", "Aston Villa" and "Aberdeen" said the Norwegian striker has only one realistic destination in Spain if a transfer becomes possible.
Wyness dismissed suggestions linking Haaland with "Barcelona", arguing that the Catalan club would struggle to finance such a deal. In his view, the idea of Haaland joining "Barcelona" does not match the current financial reality. He said that if the striker moves anywhere, it would be to "Real Madrid", not to their historic rivals.
The former executive also suggested that Haaland’s name may simply be useful in the political atmosphere surrounding "Barcelona". He said big names are often mentioned ahead of presidential campaigns or major club debates in order to excite supporters and create momentum. Even so, he insisted that a Haaland transfer to "Barcelona" remains highly unlikely and far removed from what is realistically achievable.
Despite the speculation, there is no indication that "Manchester City" are preparing to part ways with their leading scorer. The Premier League champions still see Haaland as one of the central figures in the squad, and his contract reportedly runs until the middle of 2034. That long-term agreement gives the English club strong control over his future and makes any transfer talk largely theoretical for now.
Since arriving at "Manchester City" in 2022, Haaland has delivered outstanding numbers and established himself as one of the most decisive forwards in world football. He has scored 154 goals in 188 matches for the club, underlining his importance to the team’s domestic and European ambitions. For now, while rumors continue to circulate, the strongest signal remains that "City" want to keep their star striker and build around him for years to come.
