According to the new ACL format, “Nasaf” is expected to participate in the AFC Champions League 2 tournament

The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is introducing a new format for the AFC Champions League, which will alter quota allocations for participating countries. Under this system, Uzbekistan's league winner will enter the Elite ACL, while the cup winner will compete in the play-offs with a potential drop to ACL 2. Additionally, Nasaf is expected to secure a direct spot in the ACL 2 group stage, potentially allowing three Uzbek clubs to represent the country in international competition this season.
The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) is introducing major changes to the format of the AFC Champions League (ACL). These updates affect not only the structure of the tournament but also the quota system allocated to countries.
According to information, under the new system Uzbekistan retains one main spot in the Elite ACL. At the same time, clubs from the country are given an additional quota — an opportunity to participate in the playoff stage. This, in turn, further increases competition for clubs on the international stage.
Under the current plan, the champion of Uzbekistan, “Neftchi,” will directly qualify for the Elite ACL. The Cup winner, “Pakhtakor,” will participate in the playoff stage. If the team fails to qualify, it will have the opportunity to play in the group stage of the AFC Champions League 2.
Also, according to the current situation, “Nasaf” is directly receiving a ticket to the group stage of the AFC Champions League 2 tournament. This is considered an important opportunity in terms of international experience and club ranking.
If this decision is officially approved by the AFC Executive Committee, then already in the current season three clubs of the Uzbekistan Super League will represent the country in the AFC Champions League.
These changes are being positively assessed by fans — as it is expected that more teams entering the international stage will increase the overall level and competitiveness of Uzbek football.
