Experts criticize referee of Bayern vs Real Madrid match

Referee Slavko Vinčić has faced harsh criticism from experts at Archivo VAR following the Champions League clash between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid. The analysis platform rated his performance a 1 out of 10, labeling it "disastrous" due to a lack of control and critical errors that allegedly influenced two goals. Specifically, analysts questioned his decision to send off Eduardo Camavinga for a second yellow card, arguing the penalty was excessive by tournament standards.
Archivo VAR, a social media platform that analyzes the performance of football referees, has harshly criticized the work of referee Slavko Vinčić in the Champions League match between Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
The platform gave the Slovenian referee only 1 point out of 10, describing his officiating as nearly "catastrophic." According to them, this was one of Vinčić's worst performances in recent years:
"Another catastrophic performance from Slavko Vinčić. It couldn't have been worse," wrote Archivo VAR.
The analysis notes that Vinčić ignored several key episodes and failed to maintain full control of the game. It is claimed that he made two serious errors which directly influenced two goals:
"The Slovenian referee, who has been struggling with important matches for some time, missed every possible episode. He made two serious mistakes, leading to two goals," wrote Archivo VAR.
Additionally, the situation involving Eduardo Camavinga was discussed. According to the source, the referee gave him a second yellow card and sent him off for holding the ball for a few seconds. Analysts deemed this decision excessive and inconsistent with UEFA Champions League standards:
"He gave Kamavinga a second yellow card for holding the ball for a few seconds - a player is never sent off for such an action in the Champions League," wrote Archivo VAR.
Furthermore, it was criticized that very clear and significant fouls were ignored, while early fouls were called for minor collisions. Archivo VAR described this as "catastrophic officiating":
"He ignored much clearer collisions while recording fouls for minor clashes. This is a disaster!" wrote Archivo VAR.
As a reminder, Bayern Munich defeated Real Madrid 6:4 on aggregate in the Champions League quarter-finals to advance to the semi-finals.
