Uzbekistan judokas win first medals at Asian Championships

The Asian Judo Championships for adults, which started in Ordos, China, attracted fans' attention with its first day of competitions. The Uzbekistan national team participated worthily in this prestigious continental tournament and recorded initial results.
Out of five judokas who defended the honor of our country on the first day, three performed successfully and managed to climb the competition podium. This indicates a strong start for the team.
In particular, our athletes who reached the final deserve special recognition. Laziza Haydarova, competing in the -48 kg weight category, and Sita Kadambayeva, who took to the tatami in -52 kg, participated in the decisive bouts but missed the chance in the finals, ending the competition with silver medals. Their performances are still highly valued, as the road to the final was not easy.
Additionally, in the -60 kg weight category, our compatriot Samariddin Kuchkorov won a confident victory over Kazakhstan's Sherzod Davlatov in the decisive bout for third place, earning a bronze medal. His victory played an important role in the team score.
Thus, according to the results of the first day of the competition, the Uzbekistan national team took fourth place in the overall standings with 2 silver and 1 bronze medals. Of course, there are still several days of competition ahead, and it is natural that even more brilliant results are expected from our athletes.
It is worth mentioning that these results were officially reported by the press service of the Judo Federation of Uzbekistan. Fans expect new medals and brilliant victories from our judokas in the coming days.
