Neymar removed from the official 2026 World Cup sticker album

Neymar was left out of the official 2026 World Cup sticker album

Brazilian star Neymar has not been included in the "Panini" sticker album prepared for the 2026 World Cup. The 34-year-old forward has, for the first time in the last four tournaments, failed to make the list of the world's top footballers. Goal.com reported.

Raul Valyesillo, head of "Panini" in Brazil, explained the decision with a special statistical approach. Specialists in Italy calculated the players' chances of making the final squad, taking into account their recent appearances and injuries.

Neymar's omission from the album was due to his not having played for the national team since October 2023. After the serious injury he suffered against Uruguay, the player has been unable to regain his former form.

Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti will announce the final squad on May 18. The coach has set very strict requirements regarding the players' physical condition, which leaves Neymar's trip to the tournament in doubt.

Ray, the 1994 World Cup winner, also said he was concerned about Neymar's current condition. According to him, the forward has lost his speed and does not have the physical fitness required for international-level matches.

The Brazil section of the album includes 18 players, including Alisson, Marquinhos, Vinicius, Rodrigo and young talent Estevao. The collection is expected to go on sale on April 30.
