Bayern Munich eliminated from Champions League: International press criticism

Bayern Munich has been eliminated from the Champions League following a dramatic semi-final tie against PSG. After a 4-5 away defeat, the Bavarians could only manage a 1-1 draw on home soil. International media described the team's performance as "pathetic" and "exhausted," deeming PSG's progression to the final well-deserved, according to Goal.com reports.

France's L'Équipe called the Munich stadium a lucky venue for PSG. Le Figaro highlighted the Parisians' defensive heroism, noting the team is taking bold steps toward a second European Cup. Spanish outlets Marca and Mundo Deportivo emphasized the tactical victory of Luis Enrique's side, noting an expected final clash against Mikel Arteta's Arsenal.

During the match, the Munich side protested a penalty decision. In the first half, Vitinha's cross hit Joao Neves's hand inside the box, but officials ruled that, according to the rules, a penalty is not awarded when the ball hits the hand after being kicked by a teammate.

Although Harry Kane scored for Bayern late in the game, it was not enough to save the team. Experts suggest the Munich club lacks leadership and is in need of a squad overhaul. PSG will now face Arsenal in the final, which will take place on May 30 in Budapest.
