Uzbek judokas compete for new medals in Astana

The prestigious Judo Grand Slam tournament continues in Astana, Kazakhstan. On the second day of competition, winners and medalists in the middleweight categories will be determined. Representatives of the Uzbekistan national team will also step onto the tatami to defend the country's honor in these important trials.

Today, bouts will be held in the men's -73kg and -81kg categories, and the women's -63kg and -70kg categories. Competition in these weight classes is always high, as middleweight judo requires an equal balance of speed, strength, technique, and tactical intelligence.

According to the press service of the Uzbekistan Judo Federation, the draw results for our athletes are now known. In the women's -63kg category, Sevinch Isoqova will face Ganhayh Bolt of Mongolia. The Mongolian judo school is known for its strength, so this bout is expected to be a serious test for our compatriot.

In the men's -73kg category, Nizomiddin Toshpo‘latov will compete against Aaron Szabo of Hungary. This clash will require Nizomiddin to be active, precise in his movements, and take the initiative from the very first seconds.

In the same weight category, another of our representatives, Hojiakbar Toshev, will test his strength against the host representative, Angsarbek Gaynullin. The Kazakh athlete may have an additional psychological advantage competing at home. However, Uzbek judokas have often shown character in such situations. On the tatami, it is not the fans, but preparation and composure that speak.

The Astana Grand Slam is of great importance to athletes not only for medals but also for international ranking points, experience, and prestige. In such tournaments, every victory is an important step toward future major competitions.

Uzbek judokas showed good results on the first day of the tournament. Now, fans are expecting confident performances and new medals from our national team representatives on the second day as well.

In judo, every bout is a unique story. One move can lead to victory, while one mistake can lead to defeat. Therefore, our athletes are required to show focus, patience, and fight until the end. There is great hope that the flag of Uzbekistan will be raised high on the Astana tatami again today.
