Inter Announce Official Squad Numbers for Serie A

According to reports via Serie A’s official channels, the league authorities have approved the official players and squad numbers submitted by the clubs ahead of the opening match of the 2026/27 season. The new season is scheduled to begin tomorrow, Saturday, 22 August, with the list featuring several notable changes and significant omissions. Goal.com reports .

According to Lega Serie A data, several young players have received squad numbers at the Milan-based club, including those promoted to the first team from the under-23 side. The numbers of the new arrivals who joined during the summer transfer window have also been confirmed. However, fans were particularly struck by the absence of several well-known players from the list.

New squad numbers and unexpected omissions

In particular, one of the club’s new additions, Stankovic, inherited the number 5 in honour of his father, Dejan. New centre-back John Stones will wear number 6. Djed Spence chose number 99, which had been vacant since Mehdi Taremi was sold last year. Ivan Provedel, meanwhile, has been assigned number 49.

Curtis Jones was left out of the list because his contract has not yet been registered. Yanis Massolin, who joined from Modena at the start of pre-season and is currently injured, was also not included in the squad for the Serie A opener. He is expected to leave on loan in the coming days, possibly to Monza, the team’s first opponent of the season.

The transfer market and the remaining players

Meanwhile, despite Monza’s interest, Kristjan Asllani was included in the list and will wear number 21. Luis Henrique, who is also attracting renewed interest from Roma, has been assigned number 11. Defender Benjamin Pavard retained number 28, with head coach Cristian Chivu effectively confirming that he has not been placed on the transfer list.

Young talents close to the first team, including Leonardo Bovio (46), Mattia Mosconi (48), Jamal Iddrissou (52) and Luka Topalovic (58), have also been included in the season squad. Inter will begin their campaign with this squad as they look to fulfil their ambitious objectives for the new season.

  • John Stones — 6
  • Djed Spence — 99
  • Kristjan Asllani — 21
  • Luis Henrique — 11
  • Benjamin Pavard — 28
These changes ahead of the new season will help determine the team’s competitiveness in Serie A. Fans are eagerly anticipating which players will make their mark in the matches starting tomorrow and how the owners of the new squad numbers will perform.
