Today, October 21, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev chaired a video conference dedicated to the development of artificial intelligence technologies, reports president.uz.
At the beginning of the meeting, the head of state emphasized that artificial intelligence will lead humanity to a new stage of civilization.
"Today the whole world has entered the age of artificial intelligence. These technologies are penetrating deeply from the economy to education, medicine, agriculture, and management systems. "Whoever seeks and gives results will be the winner," the President said.
According to estimates, the global artificial intelligence market is expected to exceed $20 trillion by 2030. Uzbekistan is also consistently working in this area: a special resolution has been adopted on the development of the sphere, and a legal framework has been created.
In a short period of time, more than 30 pilot projects have been implemented in the areas of public services, banking and finance, security, and transport. At the same time, it was planned to increase the volume of AI-based services to $1.5 billion by 2030, but international experts estimate the country's potential at $10 billion.
The President instructed the heads of ministries and khokimiyats to dedicate at least one day a week to the development of artificial intelligence.
"Every leader sees how beneficial these technologies are abroad. We can implement a similar system here - we just need to strive," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
At the meeting, examples of economic efficiency were cited. Many enterprises have reduced costs by up to 10 percent due to digitalization. It was noted that if artificial intelligence is added, this number will increase even more.
In some areas, artificial intelligence is proving effective: the justice and tax authorities have launched an online consulting system, automated the customs risk management system, and in the geology sector, a project is being developed to increase metal yields in ores by 1-2 percent through video analysis.
It was noted that this alone can generate an additional income of 20 million dollars per year in the geological direction.
At the end of the meeting, the head of state noted that the introduction of artificial intelligence is a guarantee not only of economic growth, but also of the country's entry into a new stage of development.
