NVIDIA Wants to Bring the GeForce RTX 3060 Back to Market

According to insider-based reports, NVIDIA is planning to bring the popular GeForce RTX 3060 graphics card back to retail. Wccftech says production could restart as early as Q1 2026. This was reported by playground.ru reports .
According to the information available, the decision is being considered amid a DRAM shortage and supply constraints affecting current-generation graphics processors. In other words, the company may want to fill the market with a cheaper, proven solution while new GPUs remain scarce.
Although the RTX 3060 first launched in 2021, it still remains one of the most in-demand models among gamers on Steam. Despite active promotion of the RTX 4060 and 5060, the previous generation’s mainstream segment is not losing its audience.
It is noted that NVIDIA has warned partners about plans to restart production, but it is still unclear which variants will return: both the 8GB and 12GB versions or only one. Previously, the 12GB model was well received, while the 8GB version was criticized due to its 128-bit bus.
A potential RTX 3060 comeback also highlights how strongly the DRAM issue is affecting graphics card pricing and availability. In particular, GDDR7 memory for the RTX 5060 is said to remain expensive, limiting mainstream-segment options.
Analysts believe that if NVIDIA truly wants this release to be widely popular, it should price it below $200. That would make the RTX 3060 an affordable alternative for mid-range gamers and help strengthen the company’s position in the mass-market segment.
Overall, the return of the RTX 3060 would allow NVIDIA to balance its mainstream lineup, partially offset the shortage of new GPUs, and once again offer gamers a time-tested graphics processor.
