A new StarCraft shooter may be unveiled at BlizzCon 2026

According to Windows Central journalist Jez Corden, a new shooter being developed in the StarCraft universe could be shown for the first time at BlizzCon 2026. The event is said to take place in September, and Corden suggests that this time BlizzCon’s main focus may be StarCraft. This is reported by playground.ru reports .
According to the source, it’s a third-person shooter, and the project has reportedly been in development for several years. This aligns with earlier leaks: in 2024, Insider Gaming also wrote about a project of this type, citing information from Jason Schreier. The game was later mentioned in Schreier’s book Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment, which notes that the team is led by former Far Cry series creative director Dan Hay.
So far, no concrete details about the game have been revealed, but the very sign of its existence is good news for fans. Blizzard has previously tried to bring StarCraft into an action format: StarCraft: Ghost was announced in 2002, but the project was put on hold and later canceled entirely.
Since the release of StarCraft: Remastered in 2017, the franchise hasn’t seen any new releases. The last original entry in the series remains 2010’s StarCraft II.
