According to Rozetked, OpenAI may have accidentally revealed a new GPT-5.4 model in Codex materials. Information about this new model appeared on the X social network and in PR descriptions on GitHub. Users speculate that the company might skip the GPT-5.3 version and release GPT-5.4 directly, due to several typos found in the company's materials.
The events unfolded as follows:
* It all started with code changes on GitHub, where developers were implementing a feature to process images without compression, in their original form.
* PiunikaWeb portal notes that the initial description mentioned support for "GPT-5.4 and newer" models.
* Shortly after, an error was noticed, and the text was changed to gpt-5.3-codex.
* Screenshots also circulated online showing the GPT-5.4 model appearing in the standard selection menu.
* It should be noted that the current GPT-5.3-Codex version was released just two weeks ago, on February 5th.
