CopilotKit raises $27 million to help developers build in-app AI agents

Today, many companies are integrating AI into their applications as simple chatbots. However, text-based interfaces do not always provide a seamless user experience. CopilotKit founders Atai Barkai and Uli Barkai believe the future lies in AI agents that live within applications, understand user actions, and provide interactive interfaces instead of just text responses. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .
The company's open-source AG-UI protocol standardizes how AI agents connect with user interfaces. This system provides developers with the framework and tools needed to embed AI agents within applications. As a result, agents can show users not just text, but visual elements like interactive tables or charts that match the company's design.
The Seattle-based startup raised $27 million in a Series A round led by Glilot Capital, NFX, and SignalFire. These funds will be directed toward developing CopilotKit Enterprise Intelligence, a product designed for corporate clients that can be hosted on their own servers.
CopilotKit technology is supported by tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon, and Oracle. Currently, Fortune 500 companies like Deutsche Telekom, Cisco, and Docusign are using this platform in their products. Millions of weekly downloads are solidifying the project's position in the market.
