Tesla Semi battery capacity revealed

New documents published by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) have officially revealed the technical specifications of Tesla Semi trucks for the first time. According to the documents, Tesla offers two battery configurations: the Long Range model has a capacity of 822 kWh, while the Standard Range has 548 kWh. This is reported by Ixbt.com .

Both models use NCMA lithium-ion technology and demonstrate identical power ratings: 800 kW peak power and 525 kW continuous power. Estimates suggest the Long Range version can travel approximately 770 km on a single charge with a full load, while the Standard Range covers 515 km.

To optimize the production process, Tesla built a new plant near Gigafactory Nevada. Vertical integration and proximity to the battery production base will allow the company to realize its plan of producing 50,000 trucks per year.

The 2026 Tesla Semi model features significant improvements over previous versions. Specifically, the truck's weight has been reduced by 450 kg, aerodynamic performance has been enhanced, and the 1.2 MW Megacharger system allows for a 60 percent charge in just 30 minutes.
