New History section launched on X platform

The social network X has introduced a new History section to make it easier for users to save and find content later. Currently available only for iOS devices, this feature aggregates users' liked posts, bookmarks, viewed videos, and articles in one place. This is reported by Techcrunch.com reports .
With the new update, the Bookmarks button in the mobile app's left menu has been renamed to History. The section consists of four parts, including bookmarks, likes, videos, and articles. X product lead Nikita Bier noted that this section is private and visible only to the user.
This change makes the X platform more like a web browser, allowing users to return to previously viewed content. While previously likes were on the profile page and bookmarks were in a separate menu, all data is now organized in one place.
Through this step, X aims to popularize its long-form article format. The platform encourages publishers and creators to produce content directly within X instead of navigating to external sites. This is a significant strategic move at a time when traffic on platforms like Facebook and Google is declining.
