Email remains popular: one-third of users have not abandoned their first address

Research by Yandex 360 analysts shows that email services are among the longest-lasting tools in the digital world. According to the data, 36% of users still use their very first email address. For 41% of them, this address was created over 15 years ago, and for 27%, it was created 10-15 years ago. This is reported by Ixbt.com reports .
Today, email serves more technical purposes. 37% of respondents use it for registration on various services and platforms, 29% for receiving receipts, tickets, and important documents, and another 29% for password recovery. The share of users who use email for personal or work communication is only 23%.
Many users value email as a data archive: 35% of respondents store their primary information in their mailbox. Also, most users do not limit themselves to one address and have two or more accounts. Among the most popular services, Yandex Pochta (37%), Gmail (32%), and Mail (24%) are in the lead.
When choosing email services, users primarily focus on security. Specifically, spam protection (32%) and account security (29%) were noted as the most important criteria. It was also found that for 63% of users, the automatic email filtering function is of great importance.
