In the first quarter of 2026, the company recorded an operating profit of nearly $25 billion. According to the system implemented at SK hynix, a large portion of the revenue is distributed to employees as bonuses. According to local media, the total bonuses paid to employees in a single quarter exceeded $2.5 billion.
Previously, doctors, lawyers, and top managers of large corporations were considered the best grooms in South Korea, but now this status has shifted to SK hynix employees. There are many reports on social media that employees wearing company uniforms are receiving special attention from women at dating events.
Interestingly, employees of another giant in the field of artificial intelligence, Samsung Electronics, do not hold such a high status. The main reason is that their bonus system is not as generous as that of SK hynix. Currently, Samsung Electronics employees are demanding higher bonuses and threatening strikes.
