CEO Michael Colglazier confirmed that the flight schedule remains unchanged: flight tests are planned for the third quarter, with commercial spaceflights starting in the fourth quarter. Currently, 650 customers have been notified of their flight dates, with commercial flights scheduled for 2027 and the first half of 2028.
The company aims to conduct four flights per month starting in January 2027, eventually increasing to eight. A second SpaceShip vehicle is also in production to help increase flight frequency. Currently, ticket prices are $750,000, with interest from customers in over 20 countries.
According to financial reports, although the company posted a $65 million loss in the first quarter, existing funds are sufficient to continue operations until commercial flights begin. Virgin Galactic also plans to optimize costs by expanding its production infrastructure, including its hybrid rocket engine line.
