French President Emmanuel Macron hosted a state reception in honor of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the Elysee Palace.
According to the presidential press service, the reception was attended by official delegations of the two countries, members of the Cabinet of Ministers led by French Prime Minister François Bayrou, prominent figures in culture, art and science, business circles and representatives of the public.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his gratitude to Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron for the reception, noting that today's talks were of historic significance, as a result of which relations between the two countries had risen to the level of strategic partnership.
The French leader welcomed the results of the talks and the signed agreements.
“Over the years, we have managed to establish long-term partnerships in such important areas as energy, water resources management, utilities, transport, and sustainable tourism. As evidence of this, I can cite the fact that French companies, with the support of the French government and the French Development Agency, are investing in Uzbekistan, creating added value and jobs in the regions, and young people are learning a profession and finding their place in life,” said Emmanuel Macron.
Emmanuel Macron concluded his speech at the welcoming ceremony in Uzbek. “Long live Uzbekistan, long live France, long live France-Uzbek friendship,” he said.
The parties expressed their firm commitment to further strengthening Uzbek-French cooperation for the benefit of the peoples.
