Uzbekistan Central Bank tightens money transfer controls

Uzbekistan Central Bank tightens money transfer controls
The Central Bank clarified that stricter control over money transfers via payment services will not cause additional inconvenience for clients, nova24.uz reports.

According to Clause 312 of internal control rules, all transfers of 30 BRV or more (11.2 million UZS) must include the sender’s identification data along with transfer details. These are the same credentials already collected when an account is opened.

The regulation only applies to data sharing between banks and payment providers, not to customers themselves.

Earlier, the Central Bank and the Department for Combating Economic Crimes issued a directive to increase oversight of specific operations.
