Why are carrot prices rising in Uzbekistan?
Carrot prices have significantly increased in Uzbekistan, reports Nova24.

Since the beginning of 2025, prices for last year's harvest have risen to 4,000 soums per kilogram, nearly double compared to the same period in 2024. The main reason is the rapid depletion of stocks due to low storage volumes in the fall, when many farmers refrained from storing vegetables because of low prices.

Meanwhile, the starting price for the new carrot harvest, which has already entered the country's markets, reaches 11,000 soums per kilogram. This figure also significantly exceeds the product's cost for the same period in 2024 and 2023.

It is noted that spring price volatility for carrots is a common occurrence. In particular, over the past five years, a steady decline in carrot prices was recorded only in 2024.
