As of June 6, 2024, citizens in Uzbekistan can place a self-ban on receiving credit in their name, reported nova24.uz. The new service is titled “On entering or removing individuals from the registry of persons prohibited from entering credit agreements.”
This measure aims to protect individuals from fraudsters who may take out loans in their name without consent. Citizens can submit a free request to the Credit Information Analytical Center (CIAC) to prevent any credit deals from being signed on their behalf.
It’s noted that the service will soon be available at public service centers and through the unified e-government portal. Once the application is submitted, the individual is automatically added to a special registry. All banks, microfinance, and credit institutions must check this registry before finalizing any credit agreements. Read 'Zamin' on Telegram!
