Citigroup to Open Office in Tashkent

On June 25, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade with a delegation from Citigroup, according to the Bankir channel.

During the meeting, it was announced that Citigroup plans to open its representative office in Tashkent in the coming days.

Citi has had a longstanding interest in Uzbekistan’s financial market. The company has participated in helping major local enterprises access international financial markets. Specifically:

. It is involved in the upcoming placement of $300 million (approximately 3.8 trillion soums) in eurobonds for “Navoiuran”.

. It served as a bookrunner in the placement of $500 million (around 6.3 trillion soums) in bonds for the “Navoi Mining and Metallurgical Combine”.
