Uzbekistan's external debt reaches $68.4 billion
As of early April 2025, Uzbekistan’s total external debt reached $68.4 billion, according to data from the Central Bank, reported by Kursiv. media.

As of January 1, the debt was recorded at $64.1 billion.

Of the total, $35.8 billion is state debt and $32.6 billion is corporate debt. Meanwhile, the country’s trade deficit decreased by one-third over the year, dropping to $2.6 billion. This was due to a significant increase in exports while imports remained stable.

The report also noted that a rise in remittances during January–March contributed to a positive balance in both primary and secondary income. As of April, the figures stood at $148.9 million and $2.2 billion respectively.

Direct foreign investments in Uzbekistan's economy reached $752.3 million in the first quarter. This marks a twofold increase compared to the previous year.
