Uzbekistan ranks among the 25 leading countries in the world in terms of security
In the first half of 2025, Uzbekistan received another recognition acknowledged by international analytical experts. In the global safety ranking, our country secured a solid position among the 25 safest countries. This was reported by several local and foreign media outlets.

Numbeo is one of the world’s largest crowdsourcing platforms with the biggest database of statistical data. It compiles annual rankings based on users’ personal opinions and impressions regarding hundreds of cities and countries around the world. This year, it followed the same approach.

The compiled ranking is not based on official statistics, but on the personal perception of the population and tourists — in other words, how safe or threatened they felt in certain situations.

Several parameters were taken into account: safety level when going out during the day and night, probability of theft, rude behavior, physical attacks, property crimes, or violence. Each respondent answered the survey based on their own experience and perception.

The safety index and crime index are measured on a scale from 0 to 100. The higher the safety score, the more peaceful, stable, and crime-free the country is considered to be.

Uzbekistan ranked 25th out of 148 countries with a safety index of 73.4. This can be considered a major achievement on an international level. The crime index was 26.6 — a relatively low level, indicating that citizens feel at ease.

Interestingly, these indicators outperformed those of many developed countries. For example, Japan, France, and Germany ranked lower than Uzbekistan.

Among the Central Asian countries, Uzbekistan also took the lead. Kazakhstan ranked 73rd (index 54.4), and Kyrgyzstan was placed 101st (index 48). These figures confirm Uzbekistan’s leadership in regional safety.

At the top of the ranking are the United Arab Emirates, Andorra, and Qatar. Their firm approaches to safety policies serve as examples for many.

At the bottom of the list are countries such as Haiti, Papua New Guinea, and Venezuela, which are facing political and social instability. In these countries, the crime rate remains high, continuing to pose threats to both citizens and tourists.

Numbeo analysts emphasize that the data is based on personal opinions, daily experiences, and intuitive perceptions. That is, the ranking should not be confused with government statistics. However, how people feel — reflects the true sentiment of society.

Officials emphasize that this achievement is the result of Uzbekistan’s reforms in law enforcement, preventive measures, and strengthening of public oversight in recent years.

Additionally, it should be noted that such high results in these rankings are especially important for tourism, investment, and international image. It not only reflects the stability of the country but also enhances its appeal globally.

The ability to walk freely in the streets, relax at night, and safely send children to school — all of these are indicators of a safe society. From this point of view, it can be concluded that the people of Uzbekistan feel relatively calm and secure.
