Agreement between Uzbekistan and France enters into force

On July 30, 2025, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan signed Resolution No. PQ–238 “On the ratification of an international agreement”.

According to the document, the following international agreements, signed on March 12, 2025, in Paris between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of France, were officially ratified:

  1. Agreement on mutual exemption from short-term visa requirements for diplomatic passport holders — this allows diplomats of both countries to enter each other’s territory without visas for short stays.

  2. Agreement on the right of family members of official mission staff to engage in paid employment — family members of embassy personnel will be allowed to work in the host country.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan was designated as the responsible authority for the implementation of these agreements.

The Cabinet of Ministers and relevant ministries and departments were tasked with ensuring proper enforcement and monitoring of these agreements.

These accords are seen as a significant step in strengthening diplomatic and political relations between Uzbekistan and France.
