According to the Tax Committee, a technical malfunction in its database resulted in the unjustified withdrawal of a total of 399.3 billion sums from the accounts of 30,100 taxpayers.
It was determined that 7,203 taxpayers lost up to 100,000 sums, 10,165 lost between 100,000 and 1 million sums, 8,270 lost between 1 and 10 million sums, 3,780 lost between 10 and 100 million sums, 672 lost between 100 million and 1 billion sums, and 10 people lost more than 1 billion sums.
The tax authorities are taking all necessary measures to return these funds to taxpayers’ accounts. All necessary documents have been sent to the Treasury, and the refunds are being processed automatically without requiring written requests from citizens.
As of 18:00 today, 274.7 billion sums have been returned to 20,608 entities.
