The Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, Maulen Ashimbayev, announced that more than 800 thousand ethnic Kazakhs live in Uzbekistan, Kursiv reported. According to him, support work for the Kazakh community in the neighboring country is consistently ongoing.
At the same time, Ashimbayev noted that more than 600 thousand Uzbeks reside in Kazakhstan. Conditions have been created for them to learn the Uzbek language, develop culture, and preserve traditions.
There are schools, theaters, literary circles, and media operating in the Uzbek language in Kazakhstan. In Uzbekistan, similar support is provided to the Kazakh diaspora, and the Republican Kazakh Cultural Center operates. Additionally, programs for learning the Kazakh language and preserving folk traditions are being implemented.
