In the city of Tashkent, starting from the new academic year, the roads in front of schools will be switched to one-way traffic. This decision is being implemented in order to prevent road traffic accidents in the capital and to ensure the safety of students.
According to the press secretary of the Tashkent City Department of Internal Affairs, Qahramon Khudoyberganov, work is currently underway to install the necessary road signs and additional indicators. The Traffic Safety Department has called on drivers to take the new rules seriously.
In addition, information work has been organized for both visitors to the capital and local residents. Through this, drivers will be able to learn about the new regulations in advance and comply with them.
A representative of the Department of Internal Affairs emphasized that this measure is extremely important for protecting the lives of the younger generation. Since in front of schools children may enter the road, failure to observe the speed limit or breaking the rules can lead to numerous unpleasant incidents.
To reduce such cases, local administrations, road services, and internal affairs bodies are working together. In the necessary places, “pedestrian crossings,” “traffic lights,” and “speed bumps” will also be installed.
