Opportunities for international travel for citizens of Uzbekistan are expanding every year. This was clearly noted in the next global passport index of Henley & Partners, which assesses the prestige of passports in the world, presented at the end of 2025.
According to the data, the passport of Uzbekistan ranked 72nd in this index. This ranking is based on data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), and the main criterion is the number of countries whose citizens can travel visa-free. Currently, citizens of Uzbekistan have visa-free access to 62 countries.
This indicator is assessed as the result of the country's diplomatic relations in the international arena, openness in foreign policy, and integration processes with the world community. Currently, Uzbek citizens can travel visa-free to countries such as Turkey, Malaysia, Indonesia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, and Armenia.
In the global ranking, the Singaporean passport was recognized as the strongest in the world. Citizens of this country have the right to travel visa-free to 193 countries. Japan and South Korea took second place - citizens of both countries have the opportunity to travel visa-free to 190 countries. Germany and Italy also made it to the top five.
Among the countries of Central Asia, Kazakhstan occupies the highest position, ranking 71st. With his passport, it is possible to travel visa-free to 63 countries. Kyrgyzstan ranked 71st, Uzbekistan 72nd, Tajikistan 78th, and Turkmenistan 84th. These results are an important diplomatic indicator for the countries of the region.
Kazakhstan also occupies a higher position than a number of countries of the Caucasus and Asia. In particular, Azerbaijan (66th place), Armenia (69th place), and Mongolia (70th place) are below Kazakhstan. This indicates a change in geopolitical influence in the region and the intensification of foreign relations.
At the very bottom of the list are countries affected by wars and isolated in international relations, such as Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria. The Afghan passport is considered the weakest in the world - its citizens have the opportunity to travel visa-free to only 27 countries.
