Uzbekistan to allocate $400 million for mahalla development in 2026

At the "From Poverty to Prosperity" forum, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that an additional $400 million will be allocated in 2026 for the development of infrastructure and entrepreneurship in mahallas.
These funds will be used to implement special programs in 32 districts and 328 mahallas with difficult conditions.
In addition, $1.3 billion worth of infrastructure will be built in 810 mahallas - water supply, sewerage, roads, schools, and kindergartens. Low-income families will be able to receive $200 million annually in the form of mortgage subsidies. In 2025, 470 thousand households were provided with water, and the energy supply to 790 thousand households was improved.
