Among Russian tourists, the desire to celebrate the New Year in an unusual and memorable way is growing. As one of such exotic destinations, Uzbekistan is currently gaining great popularity. According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), Uzbekistan is among the top five destinations for New Year's celebrations for Russians.
Along with Uzbekistan, the list compiled by ATOR includes St. Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Karelia, and Velikiy Ustyug. Experts emphasize that Russians are choosing Uzbekistan to escape the harsh winter cold and enjoy a warm climate, a rich historical environment, and a unique cultural environment.
"The air of the mysterious East, the historical cities of the Great Silk Road, rich excursion programs, and truly amazing gastronomic experiences. Celebrating the New Year in Uzbekistan can become not only a fun, but also a full-fledged cultural journey," the ATOR statement said.
The Association notes that this direction is especially relevant for tourists, bloggers, and those interested in historical sites who are over 50 years old but haven't lost their youthful spirit. Tourists can celebrate under the New Year's stars in the sky of Samarkand, see historical sites rich in Timurid treasures, or witness an exotic festive evening in the country's precious cities.
Local tour operators are already offering various programs. For example, such tours as "New Year's Stars in the Sky of Samarkand," "New Year with the Treasures of the Timurids," and "New Year among the Masterpieces of Uzbekistan" are of great interest.
ATOR advises tourists to book tickets now, as the demand for routes is expected to be very high during the New Year.
