In 2025, within the framework of the "Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy" of the "Uzbekistan - 2030" Strategy, a major project for the development of public transport in Tashkent is being implemented. By the end of this year, 200 electric buses and the necessary charging equipment will be purchased.
The Chinese company "YUTONG BUS Co., Ltd." was declared the winner of the tender held within the framework of this project. On the basis of an agreement with the company, the first batch of 100 electric buses passed through the territory of Kazakhstan through the city of Khorgos and departed for Uzbekistan. The full delivery of electric buses is planned by the end of September.
The project is financed by the Eximbank Financial Institute of China and JSCB "Uzpromstroybank." Electric buses do not emit harmful substances into the atmosphere, are silent, and environmentally friendly.
This initiative will become an important stage in the formation of a safe, convenient, and modern public transport system in the capital.
