Tian Shan brown bear dies in Bostanlyk

An investigation has been launched into reports circulating on social media claiming that "bears were brutally killed in Bostanlyk." This was reported by the press service of the Department of Ecology of Tashkent region.

According to preliminary data, one Tian Shan brown bear fell from a cliff from a height of about 70-80 meters in the territory of the Dark Forest Department of the Burchmulla State Forestry.

The causes of the bear's death will be investigated by experts from the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. Until the conclusion is issued, the bear's body will be temporarily kept on the territory of the Burchmulla State Forestry.

Based on the results of the examination, a legal assessment of the situation will be given.

It was reported that the Department of Ecology of the Tashkent region took control of this situation.
