The Civil Aviation Agency (Uzaviation) has issued a permit to the United Arab Emirates airline "Etihad Airways" to operate regular flights to Uzbekistan.
The permit was issued on the basis of the Intergovernmental Air Services Agreement between Uzbekistan and the UAE dated November 17, 1998, and covers the Abu Dhabi - Tashkent - Abu Dhabi route.According to the data, Airbus A320-232/251N and A321-231/251NX aircraft will be used for flights.
This decision is an important step towards strengthening aviation links between the two countries and expanding international air transportation.Experts believe that Etihad flights can stimulate business, tourism, and cultural exchange; this creates new opportunities and transit connections for passengers. Also, the new route is likely to increase competition for local airports and tourist services, causing beneficial changes in price and quality.
