
According to a new Presidential Decree aimed at improving the environmental situation in Tashkent, household air purifiers imported by business entities and citizens are exempt from customs duties. This decision became an important relief aimed at protecting the health of citizens after the deterioration of air quality in the capital.
Laboratory for the study of RM 2.5 particles
The document defines the creation of a specialized laboratory for in-depth air analysis under the Committee for Ecology to identify sources of atmospheric air pollution by extremely hazardous particulate matter RM 2.5. Modern equipment for this laboratory, such as thermo-optical analyzers and quartz filters, is purchased directly through the selection of the best offers.

The customs benefit applies not only to household appliances, but also to all equipment necessary to strengthen the environmental monitoring system. These include specialized equipment such as automated substations, automatic waste monitoring stations, dust and gas cleaning equipment, and local water treatment plants.
Sharp increase in imports
According to the latest data, the demand for air purifiers in Uzbekistan has sharply increased. According to customs statistics, the import of these products has increased ninefold over the past three years. In the first ten months of 2025, more than 18.5 thousand air purifiers were imported for a total amount of 1.3 million dollars. The abolition of the previous 20% duty is expected to significantly reduce the cost of household air purifiers.
