The President of our country familiarized himself with the reconstruction work at the Makhdumi Azam complex, located in the town of Dahbed, Akdarya district, Samarkand region. The head of state reviewed the project for the improvement of this shrine in March of this year.

Mahdumi A'zam was actually born in the Kosonsoy district of present-day Namangan region. He was one of the major leaders of the Naqshbandi teachings, studied in Fergana in his youth, and became a mature pir in Samarkand under the guidance of Mawlana Muhammad Qazi, a student of Khoja Ahror Vali.

He wrote more than 30 works on the science of tariqat and trained many disciples. For these religious and scientific services, he was awarded the title "Mahdumi A'zam." He is eternally resting in the Samarkand region.

Yalangtosh Bahodir built a mausoleum, a large mosque, and a madrasa to commemorate his grave. He himself was buried here after his death. More than 50 tombstones have been preserved at the shrine.

Historical sources note that two Afghan rulers were also buried here. Most of the tombstones have been studied along with their inscriptions.

Within the framework of the project, large-scale construction and landscaping work is being carried out on the territory of the shrine. Modern infrastructure is being built at the shrine, the area of which is about 5 hectares.

A three-story parking lot, entrance gate, slaughterhouse, administrative buildings, ablution facilities, a mosque for a thousand people, and additional porches are being built for pilgrims. These projects are being implemented to create maximum convenience for visitors.

After reconstruction, this shrine will be able to accommodate 35,000 pilgrims simultaneously. Previously, this figure was only 5 thousand people.

In addition, more than 40 points of trade and service will be created in the region. Trees will be planted, and work on gardening and landscaping will be carried out.

At the shrine, the President listened to the recitation of the Quran, planted a tree, and honored the memory of the scholar. He gave instructions on further improvement and planting trees that will last for centuries.
