In accordance with the Presidential Decree of February 6, 2026, the 690th anniversary of the birth of the great statesman and commander, patron of science, culture, and art, Sahibkiran Amir Temur, will be widely celebrated throughout the republic this year. This decision is assessed as an important step aimed at further increasing respect for the image of Timur, bringing his experience of statehood and spiritual heritage closer to the new generation.
Notably, April is officially declared "Amir Timur Month" every year. Within the framework of the month, meetings, educational conversations, artistic evenings, and educational events with the participation of Timur scholars, writers, and artists are planned to be held in educational institutions and mahallas. That is, it's not just about "holidays" - it's about turning history into a living lesson.
The Resolution also approved a roadmap until 2030, outlining several major projects. Among them, science, publishing, and digitalization occupy a special place:
- Holding an international scientific conference on "The Role and Significance of Amir Timur and the Timurid Civilization in World History and Culture" at the Center of Islamic Civilization on April 9-10.
- Publication of the scientific annotated text of the work "Temur's Code" in Persian, Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Spanish, and Russian;
- Preparation of book-albums "100 Rare Manuscripts of the Timurid Era" and "100 Rare Pearls of the Timurid Era";
- Development of an electronic platform for sources of the Timurid era.
Each of these plans serves one big goal: to transform the Timurid heritage not into a "museum exhibit," but into a treasure that can be read, studied, and explained in a modern format. An electronic platform is a powerful investment, especially for the future: when manuscripts, sources, and research are combined in one place, neither the reader nor the researcher loses time.
The resolution also approved the composition of the organizing committee for the preparation and organization of anniversary events. This indicates that the work will not be "just talk," but will be systematically implemented in practice.
The conclusion is one: this year April will not be just a calendar month - it will be a month of history, enlightenment, and national pride. If you want to contribute in your own way, start with the simplest step: read a section of "Temur's Code," have a historic conversation with children, go to an event in the neighborhood. Big changes are the same - they start with small but consistent steps.
