As of 07:00 on March 8, the number of citizens returned to Uzbekistan from the countries of the Middle East reached 19,347. This was reported by local media, citing information from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It was reported that on March 7, 1,680 citizens were brought home from Saudi Arabia on 9 flights, and 394 citizens were brought home from the United Arab Emirates on 2 flights. On the same day, 5 citizens of Uzbekistan were also returned from Iran.
Also, the embassies of Uzbekistan in Qatar and Saudi Arabia, together with the Ministry of Transport, evacuated the first group of citizens staying in Doha - 208 compatriots. They flew from Riyadh on a Centrum Air flight and arrived safely in Tashkent on March 8 at 05:40.
Currently, a second group of citizens - 126 compatriots - has been formed for the next stage of evacuation. It is planned to bring them from Doha to Tashkent via Riyadh on a charter flight. It is noted that the work on the return of compatriots continues systematically and in stages.
