Tashkent Metro served a record number of passengers

According to the National Statistics Committee, the number of passengers using the Tashkent metro has increased significantly in recent years. In particular, during 2025, a total of 286.8 million passengers were transported by the capital's metro.
This indicator is significantly higher compared to 2000. At that time, 125.7 million passengers used the Tashkent metro, and 25 years later, this figure increased to 161.1 million. As a result, the volume of subway use has increased by almost 2.3 times.
Analysis of the figures shows that since the mid-2000s there has been a decrease in the number of passengers, but in subsequent years this indicator has begun to recover. Especially after 2021, the number of metro users increased rapidly, reaching 270.3 million in 2024 and 286.8 million in 2025.
Among the statistical data, the year 2020 stands out. In the same year, the number of metro users dropped to 38.8 million. After that, the indicator grew steadily, and the capital's metro once again became one of the most popular public transport.
Overall, over the past quarter-century, the Tashkent Metro has significantly increased passenger traffic, once again demonstrating that it is one of the most important links in the capital's transport system.
