Uzbekistan introduces E-point penalty system for drivers

Starting April 1, Uzbekistan will implement a new automatic E-point penalty system for drivers. Traffic violations caught by intersection cameras, speed radars, and other surveillance systems will be automatically recorded in an electronic database. Reports Uzdaily.uz.
Under the new rules, drivers can receive up to two penalty points for each traffic offense. These points will accumulate over time. If a driver collects 12 E-points, the system will automatically suspend their driving license for a minimum of six months. To help drivers keep track, the system will send an SMS warning once they reach eight penalty points.
The accumulated penalty points will expire one year after the first recorded violation, provided the driver does not exceed the 12-point limit during that period. This gives drivers a chance to clear their records by maintaining safe driving habits.
Motorists can easily check their current penalty points through various digital platforms. These include the my.gov.uz portal, the MyGov mobile application, and popular payment and service apps like Road24, Safe Road, Click, and Payme.
Authorities designed this automated system to improve overall road safety and encourage drivers to strictly follow traffic regulations across the country.
