According to the National Statistics Committee, at the beginning of the 2025/2026 academic year, the number of students studying in general secondary educational institutions in Uzbekistan amounted to 6 million 870 thousand 500 people.
It is noted that this figure has increased by 94.2 thousand people compared to the previous academic year. 51.2 percent of students are boys, and 48.8 percent are girls.
By region, the largest number of students was registered in Samarkand, Fergana and Kashkadarya regions. The lowest figure is in Syrdarya region.
