A draft law aimed at improving labor relations has been reviewed in the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis. According to the proposal, a procedure for granting short-term leave to working men upon the birth of a child is being introduced.
Under the new regulation, fathers will be able to take short-term "paternity leave" to assist their spouses and participate in childcare.
The draft law also focuses on reducing informal employment. It includes provisions to strengthen liability for hiring without an employment contract, failing to report job vacancies, and delaying salary payments.
The document also aims to simplify the hiring process. It proposes the introduction of hiring primarily through personal identification numbers, thereby reducing the need for excessive documentation.
Furthermore, the bill includes provisions for the digitalization of labor relations, increasing the legal validity of electronic documents, and strengthening measures against workplace harassment and violence.
At the end of the discussions, the draft law was approved by deputies in the first reading.
