On the morning of February 1, the Russian military launched air strikes across several regions of Ukraine. Missiles and drones damaged residential areas in Poltava, Kharkiv, and Zaporizhia. Zaporizhia, Odessa, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, and Kyiv regions were also hit.
The death toll from a Russian missile that hit a five-story building in Poltava has risen to 14, including two children, Ukraine's State Emergency Service said.

Another 17 people were injured, four of them children, the FVDH said. 22 people were pulled from the rubble.
One of the victims was actress Anastasia Kolvakh. This information was confirmed by the "Modern Dialogue Theater", where she worked.
In the photos and videos that have been released, it can be seen that the impact completely destroyed the entrance of a five-story building. People may be trapped under the rubble.
Clearing and rescue operations are continuing. More than 460 rescuers, law enforcement agencies and utility workers are working at the scene.
“I express my condolences to the relatives of the victims. All necessary services are working at the scene, rescue operations are underway, and necessary assistance is being provided,” said President Volodymyr Zelensky, commenting on the events in Poltava.
Zelensky called the attacks “another terrorist crime” and once again called on Western partners to increase support for the country, including the delivery of additional air defenses.
The strikes on Poltava began on Saturday night and continued until dawn, during which drone and missile strikes were launched across Ukraine.
Russian troops have carried out several attacks on the Poltava region during this time.
The Poltava regional military administration reported that energy infrastructure in the Mirgorod district was damaged, resulting in more than 160 homes being left without power.
