These days, you've probably come across the word Munich Conference quite often on YouTube channels, when you turn on the radio while driving, or when you're looking for a football channel on TV and get caught up in the news. Usually, the news only mentions this conference by name. But believe me, this is a very serious political meeting.
You've probably seen in movies how Masons gather in secret fortresses inside various rocks and determine changes in the world order. I'm not saying that this will happen at the Munich Conference, but these meetings make statements that hint at what awaits world politics in the near future.
Putin's historic speech
First, let's talk about how important the Munich Conference is for world politics. For this, it is not necessary to give a long sermon about the history of the conference and its founders, it is enough to give an example of the most famous speech in the history of the conference.
So, February 10, 2007. The second president of Russia, Vladimir Putin, who was serving his last term according to the country's constitution at that time, was invited to the podium of the conference in Munich. "I hope that during my speech they will not press that red button and turn off the microphone," Putin began his speech. Then the Russian president said such things that Angela Merkel, the head of the Europeans, left her speechless. Putin, for the first time, stood on an international podium and solemnly announced that the world should abandon the unipolar model at the Munich Conference. That is, he told the Europeans, "You are not going to deviate from the line drawn by America." He also said that NATO expansion only brings danger to humanity.
Putin does not openly accuse any country of doing this or that, but after his words, American politicians come to one conclusion: the Cold War has resumed. Many politicians consider Putin's speech to be the beginning of hostility between the West and Russia. Putin's words have been studied for years, they even call it the Munich speech. And the events taking place in the world now show that the conclusions drawn after that speech were correct.
Yes, comrades, the podium where such serious words are said is the so-called Munich Conference. Therefore, pay close attention to what is said there.
Unexpected Hero
The main topic of this year's conference, of course, was the war between Ukraine and Russia. After all, it was not for nothing that Trump called Putin and Zelensky before the start of the conference. Zelensky gave a speech in Munich, held meetings with American officials, and European leaders expressed their positions. But the main character on the German podium was someone no one expected - US Vice President Jay Dee Vance. Speaking on behalf of Trump, Vance, in a word, indicated that the US and Europe are not the same military-political partners they used to be.
During his speech, he criticized European politicians and even doubted European democracy. As you know, the European Union countries, first of all, because they have a cheap and ready workforce, and in addition, they accept migrants from poor countries where there is a war. This is a generally established policy of the union. Vance also condemned this policy of Europe.
The speech of the US Vice President was alarming for Europe. For this reason, French President Emmanuel Macron called a meeting of European leaders to discuss this speech.
What did Zelensky say?
The Ukrainian president met with US representatives, in particular with Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Vice President Vance, on the sidelines of the Munich Conference. Of course, these meetings were not held between the two allies, as they were during the Biden administration. The fact that by the end of the conference it was clear that Russia and the United States would meet in Saudi Arabia to discuss the war in Ukraine suggests that the Munich meeting did not contain anything pleasant for Kiev.
In each of his speeches in Munich, Zelensky repeatedly reiterated that Russia and the United States cannot discuss ending the war in Ukraine without Kiev's participation, and that even if they did, Kiev would not recognize this. Zelensky also emphasized in each of his speeches that European representatives must be present at the negotiations.
One thing to note in the speeches of the Trump administration representatives: they did not explicitly state on what issue they disagreed with Europe. It was as if their main goal was to provoke Europe. But this conference was very worrying for Europe.
There were such fears even when Trump himself arrived, but after J.D. Vance's speech in Munich, the US-European alliance was in great doubt. This is nothing to America, they will solve any problem on their own. But Europe is afraid of it.
