Seven members of a family died from carbon monoxide poisoning in a house in the village of Baskuduk, Mangystau region, Kazakhstan. This was reported by the regional administration's press service.

It is noted that on March 2, a family in the village of Baskuduk suffered carbon monoxide poisoning. Rescuers and ambulance crews who arrived at the scene found the bodies of seven people, five of whom were minors.

According to the initial version of the Mangystau regional Emergency Situations Department, the tragedy occurred as a result of improper use of gas equipment. It was revealed that all of the deceased were citizens of Uzbekistan, temporarily residing in Kazakhstan.

A commission has been formed to determine the causes of the emergency, chaired by the deputy governor of Mangystau region.

"The relatives of the deceased will be provided with all possible assistance, including with their burial. The situation is under the personal control of the governor of the region," the report says.
